Puerto Rico (again)

Remember when Trump...

criticized – from the safety of his private golf club – the government and people of Puerto Rico for the slow federal emergency response after the devastating hurricane which killed over 1,400 American citizens. A comparison of the federal response to a similarly devastating Hurricane Harvey in Texas reveals that Texans received  more than 20x the amount of individual assistance, more than 3x the number of meals, 4x the number of tarps, 3x the number of emergency personnel, and had a 10% higher approval rate for federal relief applications than the American victims in Puerto Rico. Even seven months after the disaster, more than 700,000 Americans in Puerto Rico still didn’t have power.
